The  bottom layer of epithelium cells adheres poorly to the cornea and recurrent  erosions occur spontaneously or after a trauma.<\/p>\n<p>Recurrent erosions are frequent symptoms of Cogan dystrophy (Map-dot  fingerprints) and can be associated to blurry and double vision due to corneal  surface irregularities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Surgical  treatment<\/strong>: Photo  Therapeutic Keratotomy (PTK) <\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>PTK is performed       with the Excimer Laser under local anaesthesia by eye drops. It is the       same laser used in refractive surgery. PTK is performed with topical       anaesthesia ambulatory surgery. <\/li>\n<li>Smoothing  of corneal surface is performed by Excimer Laser to obtain better adhesion of  the epithelium to the cornea with definitive healing of corneal erosions.  Quality of vision is then improved. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#xA0;<\/p>\n<p>&#xA0;<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"center\"><a name=\"dystrophy\" id=\"dystrophy\"><\/a><\/h2>\n<h2 align=\"center\">CORNEAL DYSTROPHIES<\/h2>\n<p>These diseases can cause opacification of the cornea and decrease significantly the vision. Eye pains can occur.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\\wp\\wp-content\\uploads\\2015\\09\\dystrophie.jpg\" alt=\"dystrophie de la corn&#xE9;e\" width=\"400\" height=\"160\"><br \/>\n      <span class=\"gws\">Before &#8211; After<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#xA0;<\/p>\n<p>&#xA0;<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>Surgical treatment<\/strong>&#xA0;: <a name=\"ptk\" id=\"ptk\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\tPTK : can be performed to remove superficial opacifications of the cornea and allows recovering a corneal transparency and better vision.<\/li>\n<li>        Corneal graft: can be performed in case of complete opacification of the cornea or when PTK is insufficient.
