HYPEROPIA (or Far-sightedness)

  • Hyperopia occurs when the eyeball is slightly shorter than usual. This causes light rays to focus at a point behind the retina rather than directly on its surface. In hyperopia, near vision is blurrier than far vision.
  • Correction of hyperopia by glasses, contact lenses or Refractive surgery moves forward the image to the retina.
